Who is a good fit for this practice?

We work with adults (18+) who are stable, motivated, and interested in tapering medications or need help managing conditions like depression, anxiety, ADHD, or OCD. Patients should be open to lifestyle changes and therapy. We do not treat children, severe or unstable conditions, or crisis-level cases.

How do I get started?

Schedule an appointment through the online booking link and complete the required information. We’ll review your submission to ensure we’re a good fit. If confirmed, you’ll receive an intake packet and appointment reminders by email and text.

What is your missed appointment policy?

A missed appointment fee applies if cancellation is not made at least 24 hours in advance. You can reschedule through the portal to avoid the fee.

How do I request a prescription refill?

Refills are requested through the patient portal messaging system. Messages are typically answered within 24–48 hours.

What is lifestyle optimization?

Mental health is strongly influenced by daily habits. Sleep, movement, nutrition, stress management, sunlight, and social connection directly affect mood, focus, and resilience. Optimizing these areas can significantly improve symptoms and often reduces the need for medication.

Why do you emphasize lifestyle changes?

Medications manage symptoms but don’t address root causes. Long-term stability is best supported by strong foundations like quality sleep, stable blood sugar, regular movement, stress reduction, and healthy routines. These changes also make medication tapering safer and more sustainable.

Do you recommend therapy or counseling?

Yes. Medication alone is rarely enough. Therapy helps build skills to manage thoughts, emotions, relationships, anxiety, and stress. Combining therapy with medication management or tapering leads to better long-term outcomes. We strongly recommend ongoing therapy and can help with referrals.

Research shows that psychotherapy during tapering antidepressant medications greatly improves success and lowers relapse risk. As medications are reduced, emotions may resurface, and therapy provides support, coping tools, and emotional stability during this transition.

What is hyperbolic tapering?

Hyperbolic tapering reduces medications in progressively smaller percentage steps. This matches how the brain responds to medication and lowers the risk of withdrawal, especially at lower doses.

How does the tapering process work?

Tapering is gradual, personalized, and symptom-guided. We create an individualized plan, monitor closely, and adjust as needed. You control the pace, and we integrate lifestyle and therapy support throughout the process.

What medications do you help taper?

We currently provide taper management for antidepressants and work with compounding pharmacies for custom dosing. Benzodiazepine tapering may be offered in the future.

What if I’ve tried to stop medications before and struggled?

You’re not alone. Many people have difficulty discontinuing medications. Eleos Psychiatry specializes in helping patients who’ve had prior unsuccessful attempts using research-based, personalized tapering strategies.

What if I need to be seen for medication evaluation or management?

That’s completely okay. The goal is not “no medication,” but the right medication and amount for you. Some patients benefit from new, continued, or adjusted medication, and we fully support treatment that eases symptoms and improves well-being.

What if I experience withdrawal symptoms?

If symptoms occur, we can pause, slow the taper, or adjust the plan. Your safety and stability always come first. There is no pressure to continue if your body needs more time. We use clinician-guided, hyperbolic tapering plans that adjust based on your symptoms and daily life. This gentle, flexible approach supports the nervous system and improves long-term success.
